Travel to Banyuls

You can get to Banyuls and area by air, train, car, or a combination. There are national and international flights to Perpignan and Gerona, and other nearby cities. Or travel greener with Eurostar and the efficient French train services direct to Banyuls. Or by train across the border from Spain.

Perpignan is the nearest airport – Just North of the city and approximately 40 minutes drive to/from Banyuls.

Gerona just over the border in Spain is also a good route, with a wide choice of flights from various UK and European airports: approx 80-90 minutes drive.
Ryanair flies to Gerona from Doncaster-Sheffield, Dublin, Durham/Teeside, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds-Bradford, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle, Stansted. (Check their website for any updates on available routes)
Gerona airport also serves charter flights to the Costa Brava resorts, and cheap flight-only deals can sometimes be found.

BY TRAIN
There is a train station in Banyuls. It is served by good inter-city services to and from Paris and other parts of France, as well as local services from/to Perpignan. You can also get the train to Banyuls from Barcelona and Gerona, usually with a change near the Border at Portbou or Cerbère.
Journeying to Banyuls by train all the way from the UK is quite possible with Eurostar to Paris or Lille, then linking with the French rail network SNCF www.eurostar.co.uk
