The apartment is a spacious two room second floor flat (no lift) sleeping 4 people. It is part of the mature Résidence Castel Béar block, surrounded by pines and situated on the hillside at the edge of the village and open countryside. It has stunning uninterruped views of the sea and hills.

The accommodation comprises:

Living Room:
This room can be closed off from the rest of the apartment for additional privacy if used as a second bedroom. It has a comfortable ‘clic-clac’ double bed-settee. There is a TV (French channels only); a DVD player with a selection of DVDs that guests are welcome to use; a CD player/radio; electric fan. Sliding glass door to ajoining:


Large covered balcony or 'loggia'
Fabulous open views. Dining furniture, and sun-lounger. There is a built-in barbeque available as an alternative to cooking in the kitchen. There are external glass doors that open to the outside, or can be closed to create a sun-room effect. The loggia faces South-East so gets the sun all morning through to early/mid afternoon, and shade later in the day.


Bedroom
With double bed and built-in wardrobes.
Additionally there are two single roll-up futon mattresses available which make comfortable occasional extra bed(s). Electric fan available.


Bathroom
With bath & shower. Large fitted cupboards/storage space.

Separate WC

Kitchen
Equipped with gas cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle.
There is also a storage/utility area with washing machine. There is an iron, ironing board and clothes dryer rack available.

Gas central heating
An efficient central heating system that can be welcome in the evenings during the cooler months. The modern gas boiler also provides instant hot water to the apartment.

Parking in Residence car park.


The apartment is modestly but very comfortably furnished and equipped. You won’t find an up-to-the-minute fitted kitchen and luxury furnishings, but you will find clean, bright, spacious, comfortable accommodation that is great value and equipped with all you need.



Local Amenities

The town centre with its shops, bars, restaurants and other amenities, is a scenic 15 minute walk down the hill via paths and steps. Alternatively the Mairie provides a free shuttle bus around Banyuls. It runs between the apartment block and town centre around six times a day.

Other things to know

The apartment is our own holiday home as well as being let out to guests. As such there are various DVDs, books, board games and miscellaneous household items that are available for guests' use. You will also usually find few basic supplies in the kitchen cupboards etc – tea, sugar, herbs, olive oil, charcoal for the BBQ and so on. You are welcome to use any of these to get you started. We just ask that you use your discretion to replenish either what you use or an equivalent in the form of something else that looks as if it’s running out.
