Banyuls is a lovely little seaside town, beautifully situated in the Southern-most part of France near the Spanish border. It is in the Pyrenées Orientales Department of Languedoc-Roussillon.
Originally a traditional Catalan fishing village, Banyuls is now surrounded by the hillside vineyards that produce some of the region’s excellent wines and the locally produced aperitif wine ‘Banyuls’ which is named after the village.

Banyuls and area is a relatively undiscovered gem on the French Mediterranean and it remains unspoilt by mass tourism. With its mix of French and Catalan cultures, and just 12 kilometers from Spain, it is perfect for a restful holiday at any time of year, and for exploring on both sides of the border.
